Michael Jeffery talks with Colin Seis of Winona on the benefits of regenerative landscape management
Michael Jeffery is the Chair of Soils for Life and Australia's Advocate for Soil Health.
Colin Seis' management of 'Winona' in the NSW Central Highlands provides an excellent example of regenerative landscape management in practice, showing what can be achieved by focussing on soil health, and the related functions of vegetation and water management. Colin has shared his inspirational story with Soils for Life, and discusses with Michael Jeffery some of his experiences, and the wider importance of regenerating the landscape.
Outcomes Australia's Soils for Life Program is an environmental non-profit, non-government organisation with the principal purpose of enhancing Australia's natural environment with a focus on the Australian rural landscape.
The Soils for Life program supports innovative farmers and land managers demonstrating high performance in regenerative landscape management. We believe their stories (see www.soilsforlife.org.au/case-studies.html) are compelling and can provide confidence for those who want to make a change for the better.
